About the Owner/Director

Kathryn Lavery

The STEM Hangar™ was created in early 2018. It has been the dream of Mrs. Lavery's long before that time! Kathryn's mission is to provide exciting enrichment camps and classes in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math to students of all abilities, learning differences, and socioeconomic backgrounds.  With a master's degree and  teaching experience in grades 1-8, Kathryn has taught both science and math in the home school, private school, and public school sectors. Here at The STEM Hangar, she has found a way to incorporate her passion for teaching with her love of flying. Within the 3,125 square foot facility, Kathryn and her husband, Mark (Captain, Delta Air Lines) have created a flight themed facility including a basic mock up of a plane with a non-moving student flight simulator.  Kathryn believes that students will soar when they are empowered and given the time and opportunity to explore, create, invent, and question.
